Measurement

WALT measure length and area.

I will know I can do this when I :
- can order objects by length by comparing them.
- use appropriate units to measure length.
- use metres to measure big distances/heights.
- use centimetres to measure smaller lengths/heights.
- measure around the perimeter of a shape/object.

Next Step:  To use "cm" when recording measurements in centimetres.

Use different reading strategies to work out tricky words.

Use the pictures to think about what the word could be;
Look at the beginning and end letters and think about what word would fit and make sense;
Look for chunks or words I know within a word and think about what work would make sense;
Read on to the end of the sentence, then re-read and think about what word would make sense.
